Welcome to Ohana

"Ohana means family, family means that no one should be abandoned or forgotten."

Who are we?

Behind the two Ohana nurseries are two women passionate about early childhood, both qualified childcare workers.

They first opened the Woluwe-Saint-Pierre daycare center with the desire to offer a caring, gentle, and quality welcome. A few years later, they opened a second daycare center in Wavre, with the same focus on children, relationships with families, and a caring education.

They are very present on the ground, always close to the children, the teams, and the parents. Their mission: to support the little ones with heart, simplicity, and respect.

Severine Buyle

Director

Having graduated from secondary school as a group leader, I had started studying to be a nursery teacher but I realized that contact with children was not what I was looking for. Passionate about early childhood, I then turned to the "Children's Home Director" training at INFAC. During these two years of training, I was a full-time intern in a children's home located in Woluwé-Saint-Lambert where I was able to discover and learn everything I needed to know about children's first years of community life.

My contract having ended, I worked for three years in another small structure in Kraainem increasing my experience in the management and organization of a childcare center. Young mother of a little boy, I wanted to evolve and then the opportunity arose to take over a childcare center with Maude, a long-time friend. Since then, since May 1, 2018, our private childcare center has opened its doors…

Maude Junior

Director

Following a career change, I started working in the early childhood field in 2016.

Passionate about early childhood, I trained at the same time at INFAC.

Following the handover of the childcare center where I worked, Séverine and I decided to resume the business. It was unthinkable for me to leave this place and the children I was able to see grow, develop, and flourish alongside me.

It was the beginning of a beautiful adventure…

Alice
